Sander Schenk of the Hogeschool Rotterdam just put up a post today on publishers test banks.
The whole week I’m busy thinking that I should write a post about quiz material that is developed by publishers. So Sander beat me. I’m jealous. What is there to add?
The big American and English Publisher have developed fantastic online course material including online quizzes and flash cards. Last week I took notice of VU instuctors that work with MyStatLab, Freeman Biochemistry or Thames and Hudson Archeology.
In their material, a large number of question banks is available. The question banks within the student course websites are
particularly useful for formative purposes: weekly assignments in which students are asked to answer sets of such questions. A very powerful learning aid. So: low investment for instructors, high earnings for both instructors and students.
