>Motivating Students to Do the Reading 2 – Assign study questions

>Number 2:

Assign study questions. Hand out study questions that alert students to the key points of the reading assignment. To provide extra incentive for students, tell them you will base exam questions on the study questions. (Source: “When They Don’t Do the Reading,” 1989).

What is especcially interesting about this pedagogical tip is that computers can prove their worth with this. It is just very easy with nowadays VLE’s (such as Blackboard, WebCT, Moodle etc.) to design and administer online tests and collect the answers. This one is a very quick win!
